Private Collection Willemenot Dutch

Biography
Here we present a selection of paintings by the French artist Gérard Willemenot (Paris, 1943), from the private collection of a dedicated collector. For many years, he was a highly valued client and a familiar face at our gallery, a true connoisseur with a discerning eye and a deep, enduring passion for collecting.

In close collaboration with his descendants, we are now honoured to offer part of his collection to a new generation of collectors, ensuring that his lifelong appreciation for beauty and history continues to be shared.

Gérard Willemenot is a painter celebrated for his highly detailed, imaginative compositions. Willemenot studied at the Ecole des Arts in Paris. Deeply inspired by the work of Northern Renaissance masters such as Pieter Bruegel the Elder and Hieronymus Bosch, Willemenot has developed a visual language rich in allegory, satire and fantastical invention. His paintings are populated by hybrid creatures, grotesque figures and densely woven narratives that unfold across meticulously rendered landscapes.
