The Terbruggen Collection Dutch

The art collector Hans Terbruggen, who passed away in 2008, was a generous man with a profound passion for art. He also had a keen eye for talent. He supported artists not only by acquiring their work, but also by regularly covering expenses, giving them the opportunity to further develop their practice under optimal conditions. This was the case, for example, with Michael Parkes and Giovanni Tommasi Ferroni, whom he supported and encouraged from the very early stages of their careers, maintaining close friendships with both until his passing.

Because Hans Terbruggen maintained such close relationships with artists, he was often in a privileged position when it came to acquiring works: he frequently had first choice, enabling him to select what might be considered the very finest pieces.

As a devoted collector, Hans Terbruggen maintained a close relationship with Morren Galleries from its earliest years, and we look back on a warm and lasting friendship. It is our privilege to present a selection from this collection on behalf of the family, and to assist in finding new homes for these exceptional works.
